GIC Celebrates 30 Years of Growth

- The Government of Singapore Investment Corporation is hosting a conference and a dinner on 9 May 2011 to commemorate its 30th anniversary. The conference will enable GIC staff to gain insights on investment outlook and strategies from top minds in the areas of investment research, academia, policy and business.
- Mr Lee Hsien Loong, Prime Minister, Singapore and Deputy Chairman, GIC will deliver a keynote speech at the conference. Mr Lee Kuan Yew, Minister Mentor, Singapore and Chairman of GIC, is the guest-of-honour at the dinner event and will be delivering an address.
- GIC Board of Directors, global business partners, client representatives, as well as members of the Singapore financial community, are amongst the 800 guests attending the conference and dinner.
- Executive Director and Deputy Chairman of GIC, Dr Tony Tan, said, “In keeping with our commitment to innovation and investment excellence, we have organised the GIC 30th anniversary conference which we believe GIC staff and guests will find fruitful and informative.” He added, “Since GIC’s inception in 1981, we have evolved into a key manager of Singapore’s reserves. Even as we face an uncertain economic and investment environment, I am confident that GIC will be able to respond quickly and effectively due to its leadership, the soundness of its investment and innovation processes and the dedication of its staff.”
