    Social Impact

    ART:DIS Studio

GIC supports the ART:DIS Studio initiative, which equips artists with disabilities with the skills, networks, and support to secure meaningful employment in the arts and creative industry.

    How it works

ART:DIS Studio is a creative agency that bridges artists with disabilities with businesses seeking creative services.

Artists undertake commissioned work and get paid for each freelance job or get renumerated under a supported employment model with job coaches where they produce handmade merchandise.

GIC volunteers support ART:DIS Studio through public events and in-studio production.

    Impact on the community

"Art relaxes me—the shapes and patterns bring calm. I’m proud my work is being merchandised, letting more people enjoy its beauty. This opportunity not only brings happiness to others, but also empowers me in my career as an artist."

    Chong Yao Qing

    Artist with ART:DIS Studio

"Our partnership with GIC to expand work opportunities for persons with disabilities in the arts helps recognises that dignity in work is not defined by skill level or role, but by empowering individuals to contribute meaningfully, whether they are beginners, developing their craft, or professionals. By creating opportunities tailored to different competencies and support needs, we are opening pathways for individuals to earn a livelihood, take pride in their achievements, and be valued for their unique strengths."

    Angela Tan

Executive Director, Arts and Disability (ART:DIS) Singapore
