SINGAPORE, 10 May 2025 – Impart, a leading organization dedicated to improving access to mental health services for youths facing adversity in Singapore, today announced a significant three-year sponsorship from GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund. The S$450,000, three-year grant from GIC will bolster Impart’s important community-based interventions. These provide psycho-social support and fostering holistic growth among vulnerable young individuals.
Impart’s programmes are designed to break down barriers to mental health support by integrating care with educational and community services. The community-based model of care focuses on creating safe and supportive environments for youths and works with them to tackle challenges they face.
For example, Common Ground is a community-based, interest-led training and group therapy programme. The popular Speak Takraw programme, Apex, is part of this initiative.
In addition to the financial grant, GIC employees will actively participate in Impart’s programmes through volunteerism. After receiving the appropriate training, GIC volunteers will provide low-intensity mental health support during the 12-week group therapy sessions and Sepak Takraw activities. Volunteers can also serve as mentors for approximately three months, assisting youths in their transition between different programme stages.
“We are happy to be partnering Impart as they enter a new stage of growth. Our partnership started in 2022 when we first hosted the youths from Impact at GIC for a financial literacy programme. Over the years, we befriended the youths through various excursions. Through these interactions, we gained a better understanding of the challenges that youths face as they navigate pressures in school, with friends and their financial situations. This new strategic partnership will allow GIC volunteers to deepen their interactions with youths facing adversity and empower meaningful relationships to form”, said Deanna Ong, Chief People Officer, GIC.
