Charles Lim Sing Siong is GIC’s General Counsel, overseeing the Legal & Compliance Department (LCD). Charles is accountable for GIC’s legal, regulatory, and compliance matters.

Charles joined GIC in 2013. Prior to joining GIC, Charles was regional Head of Legal and Compliance for Credit Suisse and was in legal practice before that.

Charles was awarded the Credit Suisse CEO Leadership Award and the Singapore Chief Legal Officer Award. Charles has been a District Councilor with the Central Singapore Community Development Council for 18 years. He is a Board Director of Hwa Chong Institution and a Board Director of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. He is an Advisory Board Member of both the SMU Yong Pung How School of Law and Raffles Girls’ Primary School. He is a Member of the School Management Committee for Hwa Chong International School. He is also a Community Advisor for Honour Singapore. For his service to the community, Charles was awarded the Community Long Service Awards (10 years and 15 years) by the People’s Association of Singapore. Charles was also conferred the Public Service Medal (PBM) in 2016 and the Public Service Star (BBM) in 2023 by the President of Singapore.

Charles holds a Bachelor of Laws from the National University of Singapore and a Master of Laws from the University of Oxford. Charles has been called to the Bar in Singapore and the UK. He is a qualified arbitrator/Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators.
