Shang Thong Chie is Director, Enterprise Strategy. In this role, he oversees GIC’s long-term strategic planning process, analyses long-term trends in the external environment and peer institutions’ strategies, and coordinates enterprise-wide initiatives to develop new business capabilities such as in sustainability.

Thong Chie joined GIC in 2018. Prior to joining GIC, he worked in over 10 countries as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company and as Global Head, Wealth Management Transformation at Standard Chartered Bank. He started his career in the Singapore Government, with postings to the Ministries of Defence, Foreign Affairs, and Transport.

Thong Chie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science and a Master of Arts in International Policy Studies from Stanford University.
